OAKVILLE, ON SERVE MIDDLE SCHOOL ONLY

General Description: Oakville, Ontario is a suburb of Toronto. You will be staying at Clearview Christian Reformed Church, where you’ll be sleeping on carpeted floors in classrooms. Praise and worship will be held in the church sanctuary each night. We also have a full-size gymnasium where the kids will enjoy team games, basketball and volleyball every day. The Youth Room will also be open during free time where you can hang out, enjoy the snack bar or play foosball or a game of ping pong.  The whole facility is air-conditioned.  

Our goal is to help the kids and adult leaders to grow spiritually, have fun meeting lots of new friends and learning what SERVE is all about.  We want to expose the kids to experiences that will help them discover how God wants them to stretch themselves spiritually and to learn how they can contribute to the welfare of others by selflessly serving the Oakville community. 
 
Facilities: Clearview Christian Reformed Church 
 
Work Sites: We plan on doing painting, landscaping, inside and outside clean-up around the Oakville area.   We are currently talking to a couple of area ministries who will help us find our job sites. We will also work with a local food pantry and a few other organizations in Oakville and surrounding areas.  Our group size for work groups will be 5 kids and 1 or 2 adults. 
 
Day Away: Toronto – exact site(s) to be determined - will be announced as soon as we have a place finalized. 
 
Transportation: Registration fees do NOT include transportation to and from the SERVE or your daily work sites. Each group of five or more must provide vehicle(s) and adult driver(s) (typically small group leaders) to transport an equal number of participants during the duration of the mission experience regardless of whether you fly or drive to the site. The vehicles you bring will be used to transport small groups to the work site each day, so 12-passenger vans or mini-vans are preferred. Cars do not facilitate the transportation of an entire small group in one vehicle, so please do not bring them. If you wish to bring a bus, please check with the Host Team to see if this is acceptable before you make arrangements. If your group is unable to provide van transportation, please have a youth leader call Youth Unlimited to discuss options and additional charges. 
 
For your decision making purposes, the closest airport is Toronto, ON – Pearson (YYZ). Please DO NOT book airfare until you have received written confirmation from Youth Unlimited that you have been placed at this site.
