REHOBOTH CAMP, AB SERVE

Dates: July 24 - 31, 2010 (Saturday - Saturday)

Early Bird Rate by April 1:  $310 USD 
Regular Rate on/after April 1: $360 USD  
Total Site Capacity: 15, including leaders
This is a RESTRICTED-SMOKING site. 

NOTE: This is not a typical SERVE experience. You will be challenged to grow in your faith, but there will not be an evening session with a speaker and worship leader. 

Additional Requirement: Participant must be at least 16 years old by the start of this site. Younger participants may be accepted as counselors in training (CIT’s – are matched up with an experienced counselor for the week) 
 
General Description: You will be serving as a camp counselor for Rehoboth Christian Ministries. Rehoboth Camp offers 4 different weeks of camp in July to persons with developmental disabilities (Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, etc.) You will be working at our youth week where campers range in age from 8 – 21 years old. Counselors are responsible for supervising their camper, assisting/ensuring that their personal needs are met. 

Facilities: You will be sleeping in cabins – bunk beds. The Rehoboth Camp is a 10 acre site located at Gull Lake, Alberta. Our camp features cabins for accommodations, washrooms/shower building, dining hall, chapel, sports field 

Work Sites: You will be matched up 1:1 with a camper assisting them with their personal needs and having them ready for all activities such as: Bible study, crafts, off-site activities like bowling, swimming and horseback riding.  

Day Away: in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains or West Edmonton Mall 

Transportation: Registration fees do NOT include transportation to and from this mission experience. As an all-inclusive site, transportation will be provided for you once you arrive at the site. 

For your decision making purposes, the closest airport is Calgary or Edmonton, AB depending on what your group decides to do for the Day Away. Please DO NOT book airfare until you have received written confirmation from Youth Unlimited that you have been placed at this site. 
 
Speaker: The Directors of the week lead each evening’s time of sharing and Devotions.  All the volunteers are given the opportunity to discuss and share activities and events of the day.  The activities and instructions for the next day are explained.  A pastor leads evening devotions for all the volunteers each evening. 
Music: Led around a camp fire each evening, weather permitting
