JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY (NEW CITY KIDS)
ENCOUNTER INTERNSHIP

Dates: Internships are year-long or occur during the summer (ten weeks).  Other lengths are considered upon request.

Costs: New City Kids provides housing, health insurance and up to a $1,000 per month stipend ($200 per month guaranteed).

General Description: New City Kids’ vision is: Loving Kids for Change – Using the arts, learning and leading to invite children into the whole life transformation of Christ.  This position is designed for those who desire to make a difference for the kingdom of God in the lives of urban children and teens. 

Interns must be attending college or have recently graduated.  All applicants will need to go through New City’s hiring process in order to be accepted into the program.

Internship opportunities: Internships are designed around the person’s gifts and strengths.  Opportunities include:

• Leading small group bible studies
• Supporting an urban hip-hop youth group
• Tutoring children
• Teaching music (drums, keyboard)
• Teaching art, dance or drama
• Assisting in Sailing School
• Teaching or administrating at Summer Camp
• Community development
• Administration of a non-profit

Days Away: Interns receive two days off per week.  They can enjoy close proximity to New York City, the Hudson waterways and the Atlantic Ocean.

Transportation: Registration fees do NOT include transportation to and from this mission experience. As an all-inclusive site, transportation will be provided for you once you arrive at the site.
