REHOBOTH CAMP, ALBERTA -- SERVE

General Description: You will be working for Rehoboth Christian Ministries.  Rehoboth offers 4 different weeks of camp in July to persons with developmental disabilities (Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, etc.) You would be matched up with a camper aged 8 – 65, depending on which week you sign up for. Counsellors are responsible for supervising their camper, assisting/ensuring that their personal needs are met, having campers ready for all activities and events. (ie. Helping with Bible Study, crafts, sports, offsite activities, (swimming, bowling, etc.)

Facilities: You will be sleeping in cabins – bunk beds.

Work Sites:  The Rehoboth Camp is a 10 acre site located at Gull Lake, Alberta.  Our camp features cabins for accommodations, Washrooms/Shower building, dining hall, chapel, sports field

Day Away: in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains

Additional Requirement: Participant must be at least 16 years old by the start of this site. Younger participants may be accepted as counselors in training (CIT’s – are matched up with an experienced counselor for the week)

Transportation: Registration fees do NOT include transportation to and from this mission experience. As an all-inclusive site, transportation will be provided for you once you arrive at the site.

Please DO NOT book airfare until you have received written confirmation from Youth Unlimited that you have been placed at this site.

Speaker:  The Directors of the week lead each evening’s time of sharing and Devotions.  All the volunteers are given the opportunity to discuss and share activities and events of the day.  The activities and instructions for the next day are explained.  A pastor leads evening devotions for all the volunteers each evening.
