Cost: $310 USD / $325 CAD
This is a NON-SMOKING site.
For individuals or groups of 15 or less only – Please note: the total group size cannot exceed 15 people including both leaders and students.
General Description: We are located on the north shore of beautiful Lake Superior in the heart of the rugged Canadian Boreal forest. Three Christian Reformed Churches and the Christian Community Center all provide volunteers and support for this SERVE experience. People living in the city, who are less fortunate than most, will benefit from your efforts. You will show the love of God through the work of your hands.
Facilities: You will be accommodated at the Thunder Bay Christian School with on-site showers, sports, and kitchen facilities. Evening sessions will take place at the neighboring First Christian Reformed Church Fellowship Hall.
Work Sites: Some of the names include Thunder Bay Shelter House, Thunder Bay Christian Community Centre, Dew Drop Inn, Twice as Nice, Haven House, Habitat for Humanity, Restore, and Pop-cans for Charity. See Thunder Bay SERVE website for more detailed information. Participants are asked to bring work boots and gloves for work sites.
Day Away: We will be going to the Sleeping Giant Provincial Park where you will have a choice between going to an in-land lake beach for sunbathing, swimming, and various beach sports or, for the more energetic Servants, a challenging bike-and-hike has been arranged to take in a "Superior" view of nature the way God created it from the highest cliffs in Ontario. Please bring a bicycle helmet if you're interested in participating in the bike and hike.
Speaker: Luke Vander Leest, Spiritual Life Director, Sioux Falls Christian Schools

What are people saying about this site? Richard Wikkerink said “Thanks for providing the SERVE team with such a great experience! Thunder Bay was a fantastic experience for my son, with the only complaint that it was ‘too short.’ The daily slide shows kept us parents connected to what the group was up to - thank you all so much!”
