Registration fees do NOT include transportation to and from the sites. Each youth missionary group must provide vehicle(s) and adult driver(s) (typically small group leaders) to transport an equal number of youth participants during the duration of the mission experience regardless of whether you fly or drive to the site. The vehicles you bring will be used to transport small youth missionary groups to the work site each day, so 12-passenger vans or mini-vans are preferred. Cars do not facilitate the transportation of an entire small group in one vehicle, so please do not bring them. If you wish to bring a bus, please check with the Host Team to see if this is acceptable before you make arrangements. If your group is unable to provide van transportation, please have a youth leader call Youth Unlimited to discuss options and additional charges.
Vancouver International Airport. Please DO NOT book airfare until you have received written confirmation from Youth Unlimited that you have been placed at this site.
Last year, The Welcome Centre, a building dedicated to providing services for refugees opened next to our church. It is the first of its kind in the world to offer so many services under one roof. Our church has found new purpose and passion for reaching out to refugees. There are also many other needs in our community. A short distance from our church building, there’s a housing complex for single moms, a drug rehabilitation centre, a co-op for low-income families, and services for First Nations people. We are committed to opening our doors for our neighbours, and pray that our church presence brings hope and healing.
We will eat and meet at First CRC. There is no A/C, but also no need for it.
Day at the beach/ Sea-to-Sky Gondola OR Playland. Free time in the late afternoons on Commercial Drive
Our neighbourhood is safe, but participants need to have some street-smarts. We will review safety precautions and guidelines with participants.
